SetPower Enterprise allows you to centrally administer the configuration of the SetPower Enterprise Client . Admistrators can configure rules that identfy set of computers and set up a power schedule for those machines. By setting up a power schedule that keeps the machine awake during business hours and allowing the machine to sleep at night significant savings can be achieved without any interruption to end users. In addition - computers can be configured to wake up automatically for the purposes of patching or software updates.

Architecture
There are three components to SetPower Enterprise:

SetPower Enterprise Server - A windows service which holds the power configuration for the clients requesting power schedules. It also stores a history of individual SetPower clients so administrators can check on the status of different machines. Clients communicate over HTTP to this server.

SetPower Enterprise Client - A small Windows application that asks the server for configuration information and applies Power Plans based on that configuration. The SetPower Enterprise Client is extremely efficient and only consumes system resources when actually applying Power Plans and asking the server for updated configuration. It achieves this by setting wake timers and only running when performing scheduled operations. Competing solutions can consume as much as 60MB of memory when sitting idle - SetPower consumes nothing.

SetPower Enterprise Manager - A managment console that allows you to configure rules and power schedules for your environment. It also allows you to perform license management and to view client status (such as the active power plan). A common use of the SetPower Enterprise Manager might be to alter an existing Power Schedule to wake machines on a Saturday afternoon so they could recieve a software update.

Deployment
The SetPower Enterprise Client can be downloaded as an MSI for manual installation or automated deployment. The enterprise client requires zero configuration, so long as you create a DNS entry for the server called SetPower. The client will automatically look to that address unless another server name is specified. Optionally a server name can be specified as an msiexec parameter. Upon installation the client will communicate with the server and download it's configured power schemes.

Remote Wake / Wake On LAN
Users can wake their machines for remote access during off hours simply by visiting a web page and logging in.

Reporting
SetPower can be configured to capture data on when the machines are awake. This can assist in demonstrating the effectiveness of SetPower's Power Schedules and the cost savings associated with them.
